How can Integrative Medical Massage and Bodywork help me?
Don't Wait for Pain: Prioritize Proactive Massage & Bodywork
The key to getting the best results from Medical Massage and Bodywork (especially with serious medical conditions like cancer and lymphedema), is not to wait until problems arise. Don't let your body get to the point where:
• You are injured or in significant pain.
• You have severely overexerted your body.
• You have excessive stiffness and stagnation from prolonged sitting or lack of mobility.
For optimal wellness, these treatments should be a regular and proactive part of your health maintenance routine.
Top 10 Benefits of Regular Massage & Bodywork
1. Nutrient Delivery & Healing: Maximize the supply of nutrients and oxygen through increased blood flow, which accelerates healing.
2. Waste Elimination: Enhance lymphatic fluid flow and the efficient elimination of waste products, including lactic acid buildup from exercise.
3. Scar Tissue Rehabilitation: Soften and rehabilitate scar tissue while releasing contracted or atrophied soft tissues.
4. Pain Relief: Alleviate pain from arthritis (rheumatoid and osteo-), post-operative conditions, fibromyalgia, and other chronic health issues.
5. Cardiovascular & Oxygen Flow: Improve heart health and facilitate more oxygen delivery to vital tissues and organs.
6. Injury Prevention: Reduce the chance of injury and poor compensatory patterns through improved alignment, body awareness, and function.
7. Mobility & Flexibility: Enhance range of motion and muscle flexibility, leading to better mobility and more effective exercise routines.
8. Stress & Cancer Support: Reduce stress and ease symptoms for cancer patients undergoing treatment or in recovery.
9. Mental Health: Ease symptoms of depression and anxiety.
10. Sleep Quality: Enhance your sleep quality and duration.
How do these treatments help with pain?
If you are seeking solutions for chronic pain, I invite you to explore a holistic approach with me.
Think of pain as the 'sum of all inputs.' If you have a nagging backache, a sudden cold or high stress can make it flare up. It's not just the back—it's everything your body and mind are managing at once.
Your brain is constantly balancing inputs—emotional, physical, and environmental. When there is excessive sensory input—such as joint restrictions, inflammation, or emotional trauma—your brain defaults to protection mode, causing pain.
Through Medical Massage, Bodywork, Yoga/Movement, and Ayurveda, we can reduce these stress inputs, bringing your body back to equilibrium. My approach helps release stored physical and emotional tension, allowing you to down-regulate pain perception and find lasting relief
How many sessions will I need?
Your personalized treatment plan is determined by a comprehensive health intake.
For chronic conditions, like edema, injuries, or long-standing issues, I generally recommend an initial series of 6–8 sessions, spaced one to two weeks apart. If you prefer to start with a single session to see how we work together, that is perfectly fine.
Following this initial period, we will reassess your progress to determine the next steps or discuss referrals if necessary.
Many clients continue with a maintenance schedule that suits their lifestyle, returning for 'tune-ups' or ongoing mind/body support even after graduating from their initial treatment plan
When will I see results?
While everyone’s journey is unique, wellness is a cumulative process, and meaningful change takes time to take hold within the body’s tissues.
I generally recommend an initial, consistent series of 6 - 8 sessions to start, after which we can discuss moving to a flexible maintenance schedule (every 2-3 weeks, monthly, or as needed) based on your budget, history, and goals.
To determine your specific plan, schedule your Free Phone Consultation to discuss your history, goals, and any questions you may have.

How should I prepare to get a massage?
A Quick Guide to Maximum Relaxation
Welcome! To ensure you have the best experience, keep these simple tips in mind:
Prep & Forms: Please fill out your intake forms thoroughly beforehand.
Set Goals: Think about what you need—relaxation, pain relief, or injury recovery—and we’ll review your goals at the start.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before and after your session to aid in recovery.
Timing: Try to schedule when you can relax afterward, and avoid eating a heavy meal 1–2 hours before or after.
Attire & Scents: Please skip perfumes, secented soaps, aftershave, or lotions. It’s best to leave jewelry at home or be ready to remove it.
Comfort: If you are concerned about oils, feel free to bring a change of clothes. If we do deep tissue or fascial work, you may feel some soreness, which is normal.
Relax and enjoy your journey to recovery!
